Portland: The Zoo

We drove straight from the airport to the Portland Zoo.  When we lived in Portland we had passes to the zoo, and we were excited to be back.  The weather was perfect.  When we got back to Grandpa and & Sandy's the news screamed, "Heat wave!  Highs in the 90's."  

The boys LOVED feeding the birds.  So fun!

PS: I couldn't find this little cave.. is it near the lions?  Look how little they are!  This doesn't feel that long ago!

Portland: The Airplane!!

The boys did a wonderful job on the airplane.  Of course, more than two hours it might not have been as pleasant.

The pilot on the return trip let the boys check out the cockpit.  It was pretty fantastic.  Sterling love to pretend to drive the car; you can imagine his delight.... so many buttons!!

And we ate lots of snacks...

We are so lucky to have family that wants to cram into our house and take us boating!!

Last night I lay on a blanket in our backyard. Brandon was playing catch with Chandler and Sterling was digging in the dirt, feet black from summer playing outside. I looked at my life and thought, if this is it.. If these are the only children Heavenly Father chooses to bless me with, my life is incredibly blessed. I could be okay with that.

A Midsummer's Night Movie

We went to the movie in the park... which mostly mean eating and waiting for the movie to start.

And then it got dark and we watched the movie... kinda.. part of it....
