When I grow up..

"Do you know what you're doing after Brandon graduates?"
I'm usually left with a blank stare, or me making up some kind of answer to make it seem like we're not really all that concerned.

In reality, it consumes our thoughts, largely dominates our prayers, and is the basis of our fasts. I have spent hours on the computer, looking at listings, and areas in which the opportunities are available. Brandon spends breaks during his school day on the phone, carefully editing the detailed spread sheet he's tracking.

Our brains run nonsense lists: "Aurora, Highlands Ranch, associateship, Oceanside, Dr. Helm, weather, Thousand Oaks, cost of living, family, Dr. Roberta, office space, school districts, buying a home, swimming pools, distance..."

Everyone has an opinion..
"I would never work in California."
"Everyone fails there."
"There are a lot of old people there."
"My friends hate it there."

Then the soft whisper in the temple: "Everything will be okay if you go to California. No need to fear." It wasn't a direction to go to California, but a reassurance that we are not doing wrong by exploring the option.

So, there you have it. No, we don't know what we're doing or where we are going, but we are confident we are doing our part, and we hope to know the answers to all of your (and our) questions soon.

Seriously, though, how can you not want to live here?

Or here..

edit: I want to clarify. I am not mad that you are asking about our plans. I understand that it's just curiosity born out of love, and it doesn't bother us. Please, no one feel bad for asking! However, currently, this is all the answers we have. *Loves*
