When I Grow Up: Part II

I guess part of growing up is handling disappointments.

This morning I drove to the gym. While sitting at a red light I thought about all the different directions I could drive my car. I wondered why our plan would include such a directional change. A change that would take us to Paducah, Kentucky instead of Laguna Hills, CA. I wondered if the opportunity had been presented in Kentucky wrapping paper originally, if we would have turned it down with out consideration.

Tears fell as I drove through 202nd avenue; reminding myself that it was God's plan that I needed to trust in. In the gym parking lot I composed myself, got out of my car and walked into the gym, where I had a very unfocused work out.

Brandon is currently looking for other opportunities in California. The Doctor in Paducah has bought us (Brandon & I) tickets to fly out and see the town and practice next week. Our options are still open, and we're still considering the Denver job as well. All this really means is that we will be staying Portland through at least August, and we won't be working for Dr. Dan Farkas in Laguna Hills in July as planned. We are all very disappointed, as this ruins our plans of spending everyday at the beach club, but this is why we had back ups.

Honestly, I am some what flattered by the amount of responses that sound something like this, "So sad for you, but yay for staying for a few more months!"

Bethany-- I'm sorry your dream job didnt work out, but on the bright side I think KY is beautiful! I guess that is because I grew up in Ohio, so its practically the same place, and i've never been to padwhatever the city was called, but it should be an adventure at the very least! I know how much you love CA, and i understand the helpless feeling of having to move where ever job offers take you (I NEVER would have picked to move to TX!). So i'm sorry, hang in there. But if you end up in KY, it might be much easier for Jon and i to visit on our way to see my parents!
